ICOM International Chairs Meeting in Paris
On 24-25 June, Christian Greco, Chair of ICOM-CIPEG and board member Anna Consonni took part in the 2026 ICOM Annual Meetings, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris as part of ICOM’s 80th anniversary celebrations under the theme “Museums Uniting a Divided World.”
The meetings brought together representatives from ICOM’s National and International Committees to discuss current challenges and opportunities for museums.
A key outcome was the adoption of the revised ICOM Code of Ethics for Museums, developed through an extensive international consultation process. The updated Code reinforces principles of integrity, transparency, sustainability and respect for cultural diversity, and serves as an important reference for museum professionals worldwide.
The Annual Meetings also offered a valuable opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, exchange perspectives, and strengthen the international ICOM network.
